BlockFi Login — Quick Guide
What this page covers: signing in, two-factor authentication (2FA), common login errors and fixes, account recovery, and security tips to keep your cryptocurrency account safe.
Overview
BlockFi provided a platform for crypto lending, interest accounts, and trading. This guide explains the typical steps for accessing your BlockFi account via the website and mobile app, plus recommended troubleshooting and safety practices. If BlockFi's platform or URLs change, always verify official sources and communications before entering credentials.
How to sign in (web and mobile)
- Visit the official BlockFi website or open the BlockFi mobile app.
- Click/tap Log in (usually top-right of the homepage).
- Enter the email address associated with your account and your password.
- If you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, enter the code generated by your authenticator app or via SMS when prompted.
- Complete any additional verification steps (captchas, device confirmation, etc.).
Tip: Always confirm the URL starts with https:// and is the official BlockFi domain before entering credentials.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
2FA dramatically increases account security. Common methods:
- Authenticator app (recommended): Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator.
- SMS (less secure): receives codes by text message.
If you need to reset 2FA because you lost your phone, look for the account recovery or 2FA reset flow in the BlockFi support center. Prepare proof of identity and account ownership (email, recent transactions, KYC documents) to speed the process.
Common login issues & fixes
- Forgot password: Use the “Forgot password” link on the login page. Follow the reset email instructions and pick a strong unique password.
- 2FA codes not working: Confirm your device time is set to automatic/time sync, or use a backup code if provided during setup.
- Account locked: Too many failed attempts may lock access temporarily — wait the cooldown period or contact support.
- Suspicious activity detected: Follow on-screen prompts and contact support immediately if unauthorized access is suspected.
Account recovery
If you cannot log in with email/password/2FA, find the platform's Account Recovery or Support page. Expect to provide:
- Email address used to register.
- Proof of identity (government ID) if required.
- Transaction details or timestamps that prove ownership.
Keep copies of correspondence and any recovery codes generated at account setup.
Security best practices
- Use a unique, strong password and a password manager.
- Enable 2FA with an authenticator app (avoid SMS when possible).
- Beware of phishing emails — never click suspicious links or share private keys.
- Keep backup recovery codes in a secure offline place.
